For a lot of people puberty will be their first experience acne. When you enter into puberty your body will produce a hormone called androgens and these hormones will cause over-stimulation and enlargement of the sebaceous glands. When this happens people will have a high amount of sebum and if the skin is not properly cleansed this can lead to clogged pore and eventually acne. Many people have had success with over the counter products to reduce pimples, blackheads, and acne.

Remember to always wash your face twice a day and use a soap with mild ingredients or one that contains benzoyl peroxide. When you are washing your face do not scrub the infected area as this may irritate and redden the affected area and give it a worse look than it already has.
Remember never to scratch, pick, pop, or squeeze your pimples because in the long run this will only cause infection and you may be susceptible to scarring. If you can help it, avoid shaving the infected area because while shaving you may accidentally cut the infected causing more bacteria to spread.
The jury is still out on whether food causes acne there are many reports that says that food does not and there are some out there who say that the food that you eat contributes to acne. To be on the safe side doctors recommend that you eat foods that are high in beta-carotene, examples of this would be cantaloupe or carrots. Again, just to be on the safe side you should avoid foods that are greasy for high in fat content.
Acne can be difficult to deal with but if you follow the above tips and you should be able to deal with the acne and have healthy and clear skin in no time.
